General
Where is the bike designed and assembled?
The bike is proudly designed and assembled in The Netherlands.
What does the name Radian mean?
The name Radian refers to the core of our motorcycle: the battery pack. A radian is the unit of angular measurement in mathematics and physics. The shape of the battery pack is approximately one radian. Beyond this, Radian also reflects our foundation of knowledge and engineering, combined with a sense of motion, balance, and control. All these elements come together in our first product: the EXR.
Bike (EXR)
Is the EXR road legal?
The bike will be road legal and is targeted to be placed in the European A1-category.
Can I connect 12V accessories?
There will be an additional 12V supply plug in the cockpit to provide power to auxiliary accessories. The 12V supply plug is only active when the bike is powered on.
What wheel and triple clamp compatibility does the bike have?
The wheel hub interfaces are designed to match KTM/Husqvarna/GasGas full-size off-road platform standards. This includes axle diameter, hub width, and brake disc mounting interface. The chassis steering head geometry is designed to accept triple clamps from the same KTM/Husqvarna/GasGas generation (2023+). The bike is equipped with KYB forks. These use a different lower triple clamp interface compared to WP fork systems. As a result, KTM/WP-spec lower triple clamps are not directly interchangeable without KYB-specific clamp geometry.
What comes included with the bike?
The bike will come with a basic toolkit and a charger.
Will there be an optional foot rear brake?
From experienced test riders we repeatedly noticed that they quickly get used to a hand-operated rear brake. However, we understand that it may be perceived as a barrier to transition to electric for certain riders. We will investigate an optional foot brake accessory.
What maintenance is required, and at what intervals?
A large benefit of the bike over ICE alternatives is significantly reduced maintenance. The only powertrain-related maintenance required is replacing the gear oil and inspection of gears and bearings. Exact maintenance intervals will be communicated before delivery.
Does the bike have traction control or a virtual clutch?
We are currently investigating the added value of both technologies for riders. Stay up to date by following our social media channels for the latest news.
Does the bike include GPS tracking?
The Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) does have built-in GPS functionality for tracking your rides.
Is a subscription required for app features?
At this time, there are no plans to require a subscription for the app’s functionality. If there are no recurring costs involved (such as for 4G connectivity), we do not believe a subscription model is appropriate.
Is the app required to use the bike?
The app is not required to use the bike. The bike is pre-loaded with multiple ride modes for various purposes. If you want to modify ride modes or update your bike, the app is required.
Can the bike cleaned with a pressure washer?
Yes, most parts of the bike can be cleaned with a pressure washer, but you should prevent spraying the pressure washer directly at critical components, like high voltage connectors.
Can I choose different suspension options before delivery?
The suspension of the bike is fully adjustable. The bike will be delivered with a default setup that is suitable for most riders, including suspension settings optimized for general use.
When will the Smart Storage modules be available?
The Smart Storage modules will be available in the future, though no delivery date has been confirmed at this time. However, in the future we will provide downloadable 3D files so you can design and create your own modules. At Radian we believe that every user should be able to create the tools they need in their own adventures.
Will there also be a motocross and supermoto version available?
Our vision is that in the future, both a motocross and supermoto version will be unveiled. Stay up to date by following our social media channels for the latest news.
Battery
What is the expected lifetime of the battery?
The battery is designed to retain at least 80% of its capacity after 2000 hours of use. Thanks to the swappable battery system, fast charging is rarely required, which helps extend overall battery life.
Can the battery be charged outside of the bike?
Yes, the battery can be charged outside of the bike with the InfiniDock. The InfiniDock can later be bought separately and is already available as part of the Swap package.
Can you ride the bike with only one battery module in it?
No, the bike cannot be ridden with only one module. The modules are used as a pair and cannot be separated. This is needed to ensure optimal performance of the system.
Can I mix and match InfiniPack modules?
No, InfiniPack modules are always sold as a pair and can only be used as a pair. This is needed to prevent unequal degradation of the batteries.
Do I always need to purchase a Swap package, or are standalone batteries available?
Currently, additional batteries are available for reservation via the Swap package. Later, additional sets of batteries will be available separately.
What will be the price for the Sprint battery?
The price for the Sprint battery has not yet been revealed. Stay up to date by following our social channels for the latest news.
When will the smaller Sprint battery option be available?
The Sprint battery will be available after launch, though the exact release date has not yet been determined. Please follow our social channels to stay informed about the latest updates.
Charging
Is there a fast charger available?
At this moment, no fast charger is available. We are working on a Smart Storage module with a CCS plug, so the bike can be charged at fast charging stations.
What charging options are supported?
The EXR can be charged using the included off-board charger, which can be plugged into a standard household outlet (220–240V or 110–120V). When using a 120V outlet in for example the US, charging time will approximately double.
Pre-order
Can I book a test ride or see the bike in person?
Stay up to date by following our social channels for updates on test rides or physical viewing possibilities.
Can I purchase the bike as a business without VAT?
Yes, this is possible. However, the reservation costs are excluded from VAT, due to the the fact that vehicle sales fall under intra-Community acquisition within the EU. VAT must instead be self-assessed by the customer in accordance with Article 2(1)(b)(ii) of Council Directive 2006/112/EC.
Can I modify my order after placing it?
Yes, when confirming your final configuration, you will be able to make changes to your configuration.
What payment methods are available?
The available payment methods are: Card, Apple Pay, Bancontact, iDeal / Wero, PayPal.
When is the full payment due?
Before production will start, Radian will send out an email asking to complete your payment. You will be guided to the Radian website, where you will be asked to confirm your final configuration and shipping address. You will be able to make changes to your configuration at this stage. When you are fully satisfied with your configuration, you can complete the full payment safely through our checkout procedure. Once we have received your payment, your order is final. The estimated delivery time will be displayed on our website or sent to you by email.
Can I cancel my reservation and get a refund?
The reservation is non-refundable.
Are the specifications final or subject to change before delivery?
The current design of the vehicle is the result of various years of research and development. When transitioning to mass-production, some specifications could still change. For more information, see applicable the terms and conditions.
Delivery
How will I be updated about my order status?
We will be sending out regular behind-the-scenes updates on the progress of the development, both via e-mail as well as through our social media channels. When it is time to confirm your final configuration, you will be notified through email.
When will the bike be available in my country?
The bike will be delivered in Q4 2027 in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The next phase of deliveries will be for the EEA + Switserland + UK. The third wave of deliveries will be the rest of the world.
Can the bike be delivered through a dealer?
At the moment, the bike is available for direct purchase from Radian. In parallel, we are working on establishing a Radian dealer network.
Why are the first deliveries scheduled only in Q4 2027?
We have invested significant effort in developing prototypes that closely reflect the final production models. While these bikes already represent our vision, there are still a few key details we are refining to deliver a product that meets the expectations of the enduro market. Once these final improvements are completed, the bikes will enter the homologation process, after which we will begin large scale production and shipping to customers.
What is the expected delivery timeline?
The first bikes are scheduled to be delivered in Q4 2027.
