Senior Electrical Engineer

Building a prototype is exciting. Turning it into a reliable, manufacturable product that can be produced at scale is where the real engineering begins. At Radian, you'll play a defining role in bringing the next generation of high-performance electric motorcycles from prototype to production. Your decisions will directly shape the motorcycles that riders around the world will experience.
Your role
We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience taking complex electrical systems from prototype to production. You'll be responsible for transforming our current development platform into a production-ready motorcycle, owning the full electrical architecture - from the high-voltage system and battery management to power electronics, VCU integration, and wiring harness.
Working closely with our multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll own major electrical systems throughout the entire product development cycle. From detailed design and supplier collaboration to validation and production readiness, you'll help build the engineering foundation for Radian's first production motorcycles.
Your responsibilities
- Play a major role in the electrical development from prototype to production.
- Design, optimise and validate electrical systems and PCBs for production.
- Lead HV safety and isolation testing, EMC/EMI testing, system-level validation and certification.
- Improve designs for manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers on component development, manufacturing processes, and quality.
- Perform design reviews, engineering calculations, and root cause analyses.
- Work together with mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers to deliver an integrated product.
- Drive continuous improvement throughout the development process.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building engineering best practices.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline;
- Has 5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience;
- Has proven experience bringing electrical systems from prototype into series production;
- Has strong PCB schematic and layout design skills, preferably in KiCad;
- Has a solid understanding of high-voltage systems, BMS architecture, and power electronics;
- Has experience with HV safety and isolation testing, EMC/EMI testing, and functional system-level validation and certification;
- Preferably has experience within the motorcycle or automotive industry;
- Is comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment where ownership and initiative are valued;
- Is a strong communicator, collaborative, and comfortable working autonomously;
- Is able to communicate effectively in English. Dutch proficiency is a bonus.
- A bonus: passion for motorcycles, motorsport, and/or electric vehicles. A student team background (MotoStudent, Formula Student or comparable) is always nice.
Practicalities
- This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
- We are looking for someone who can join as soon as possible.
- The position is primarily on-site at our office in Hengelo, The Netherlands. A hybrid arrangement can be discussed.
What we offer
We offer the unique experience of being involved with a startup in its early stages, working on a product that is genuinely pushing the boundaries of electric motorsport. You will be part of a small, passionate team where your ideas and contributions have real impact. As a fast-growing startup, there is plenty of room to take initiative and make the role your own.
