Mechanical Engineer

Building a prototype is exciting. Turning it into a reliable, manufacturable product that can be produced at scale is where the real engineering begins. At Radian, you'll play a defining role in bringing the next generation of high-performance electric motorcycles from prototype to production. Your decisions will directly shape the motorcycles that riders around the world will experience.
At Radian, you'll be contributing to the development of a high-performance electric motorcycle from day one, and growing as an engineer in a fast-moving, passionate team. This is a unique opportunity to learn what it really takes to bring a cutting-edge product to life.
Your role
We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer with 1-2 years of experience who is eager to grow within a dynamic startup environment. You'll support the mechanical development of our motorcycle across a range of tasks, working closely with our senior engineers to design, test, and refine components and assemblies.
You'll get broad exposure to the full product development cycle, from concept and detailed design to product validation, and will be encouraged to take ownership of your work from early on.
Your responsibilities
- Support the design and optimisation of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Assist in prototype builds, testing, and validation activities.
- Contribute to design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) improvements.
- Help formulate technical documentation and make detailed technical drawings.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers on component development, manufacturing processes and quality.
- Perform engineering calculations and support design reviews.
- Work together with engineers across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement throughout the development process.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Has 1-2 years of professional mechanical design experience.
- Has strong CAD skills, preferably in SolidWorks.
- Has experience working with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Has understanding of manufacturing processes such as castings and injection moulding.
- Is comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment where ownership and initiative are valued.
- Is a strong communicator, collaborative, and comfortable working autonomously.
- Is able to communicate effectively in English. Dutch proficiency is a bonus.
- Has the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines.
- A bonus: passion for motorcycles, motorsport, and/or electric vehicles. A student team background (MotoStudent, Formula Student or comparable) is always nice.
Practicalities
- This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
- We are looking for someone who can join as soon as possible.
- The position is primarily on-site at our office in Hengelo, The Netherlands. A hybrid arrangement can be discussed.
What we offer
We offer the unique experience of being involved with a startup in its early stages, working on a product that is genuinely pushing the boundaries of electric motorsport. You will be part of a small, passionate team where your ideas and contributions have real impact. As a fast-growing startup, there is plenty of room to take initiative and make the role your own.
